The Great Lakes Carnival Glass Club was organized on April 23, 1983 by a group of collectors and lovers of old carnivial glass in Michigan. The purpose was to encourage the friendship of our members and share in the knowledge of old carnival glass. The primary objective of the club shall be to recognize old carnival glass, either pressed or blown and made primarily in the United States between 1905 and 1930. The secondary objective is to impart our knowledge of this glass to each other in a friendly, social atmosphere. The emblem or logo shall be a big fish pattern inserted in the middle of the lower peninsula of a map of Michigan signifying michigan fishing.
Membership shall be anyone interested in carnival glass and shall not necessarily be confined to residents of the state of Michigan.
We meet 4 times a year. Three times in a member's home, usually February, April, and August. The fourth meeting will be a weekend Glass Bash/Convention the first full weekend of November. Location decided by the club. We are a friendly group of collectors who love to show and talk about our glass. We welcome any and all inquiries.
